Buff Bones® Pilates & More

Bone strengthening, osteoporosis-safe, fun exercise class for all levels using Pilates, functional movement, balance, strength training to improve posture and tone your whole body.

Gentle Stretch & Release

All levels. Start on the mat with low lights and quiet music; practice slow, gentle full body stretches; end with a short rest and find yourself refreshed and restored. Deeply relaxing and rejuvenating. Appropriate for all levels and the inflexible body.

Pilates Mat Multi-level

Focus on alignment, strength, flexibility, breath, body awareness. Using principles developed by Joseph Pilates, emphasis is placed on developing core strength to improve posture, create long, lean muscles, enhance overall strength & flexibility, and a sense of well-being.

Pilates For Multiple Sclerosis

Pilates mat class with a focus on the needs of those with Multiple Sclerosis. Includes breath work, flexibility, core strength, balance, stress relief and more. Free for members of MS Center of SWFL and must be a member of MS Center of SWFL to attend.

Tai Chi for Beginners  (TCB)

 This program uses eight forms, derived from the traditional 24-form Yang Style Tai Chi, and progresses from easy to difficult. Research has shown that people who practice Tai Chi are half as likely to fall and are less fearful about falling. Tai Chi helps older adults improve their balance and reduce the likelihood of falling. Each session includes warm-up exercises, practice of the form, gentle Qi Gong exercises and brief cool down. Chairs are provided for rest or balance assistance.

Tai Chi for Health/ Arthritis (TCA)

 TCA is recommended by the CDC because it is evidence-based to be effective at preventing falls. Tai Chi is an ancient practice proven to reduce pain and improve mental and physical well-being. This program, developed by Dr. Paul Lam, and approved by the Arthritis Foundation, uses gentle Sun-Style Tai Chi routines that are safe, easy to learn and suitable for every fitness level. Tai Chi will help you reduce stress, increase balance and flexibility, feel relaxed, improve your overall mind, body and spirit. Chairs are provided for rest or balance assistance.

Tai Chi: Beginners – At Alliance for the Arts

Tai Chi is often described as ‘meditation in motion”‘, but it might well be called “medication in motion”, according to Harvard Medical School’s Harvard Health Publications. Tai Chi is appropriate for all ages and any skill level. Learn to move smoothly and efficiently with grace, suppleness, balance and good posture. Learn to relax your body and open your energy pathways. Gently build your strength, flexibility and mental clarity. Boost your immune system. Practicing Tai Chi is a gift to yourself that will help you improve overall, your mind, body and spirit. No experience necessary.

The Miracle Ball Method Workshop

All levels/ All ages. A non-exercise approach to stress and pain relief. Work on specific areas of your body using 2 soft balls and focused breath to reduce excess tension in the muscles, allowing your body’s own alignment system to re-balance and heal. Offered in monthly workshops – Temporarily on hold due to COVID-19.

Mindfulness Meditation – Touching Peace

All levels. Learn to calm the mind and relax the body by being present and letting go of the burdens of the past and the worries of the future. Sit in a chair or bring your cushion.
